Powerhouse is the first project that CSVI incubated.
There is a shortage of 26 million homes in India and a large percentage of this shortfall is located in ‘off-grid’ locations. Powerhouse builds quality, low cost, prefabricated houses, customizable with five base designs, and with integrated photo-voltaic (“PV”) solar panels. The panels not only provide electricity for the inhabitants to live, but also allow electric two wheelers to be charged. With a promise to ‘electrify every village in India’, the Powerhouse even has the potential of creating earnings for the inhabitants by selling back power to the grid as part of the net-metering policy.
